Air Travel. Sicily Tour is a tour guiding company, not a travel company. Most of our clients arrange the flights themselves or through their own local travel agent. If you want to do it yourself, we have some advice sheets with some hints about saving money on air travel to Sicily. Contact us about a tour and we can send it to you.
We suggest arriving at Catania airport as the majority of our tours begin with our home base in Siracusa and end in Taormina, each an hour from Catania airport. If you choose to arrive in Palermo, however, we can arrange pickup there at an additional cost.
Driving. We suggest letting us drive you around Sicily; the driving style here is, well, freeflowing, and likely you'll be more relaxed in the hands of one of our local drivers. If you do choose to drive your own car, we'll still be able to accompany you as your guide.
Rail. The main line European trains travel the length of Italy, cross the straits of Messina and continue to Palermo or Catania/Siracusa without you having to leave your seat or sleeping compartment. We can pick you up at Siracusa station. There also are narrow gauge trains that wander their leisurely way around Sicily, which are a lovely way to go if you’ve the time.
Intercity buses. These are efficient, on time, faster than the trains, and by far the least expensive way to get from city to city. Again, we can pick you up wherever you arrive.
